The SPY-1D Aegis Radar System




  The SPY-1D is the radar which has been fitted to the Japanese Kongoue class destroyers and it was expected on the KDX-3 ships for South Koria. Whereas the SPY-1F and SPY-1F(V) were reported to be improved versions of the SPY-1D and they were the export versions that have been selected by Norway and Spain. It was not known that what type will  be fitted yet to the Australian ships when they are selected. The SPY-1 is multifunctional radar system that conduct hemispherical and horizon searches. Multiple target destination and multiple target tracking. The radar also works as a command link between the ship and the missile for mid-course guidance. The missile uses a dedicated fire control radar or onboard homing For end game.
